Miss April began dancing at the age of 9. When she turned 18, she moved to
California to join the Young Americans Performance Group where she had the
opportunity to train with talented singers and dancers from all over the country.
After returning home to Ponchatoula, she was a 5 year member and 2 year
Captain of the Southeastern Louisiana University Lionette Nationally Ranked
Dance Team.  Miss April performed in and choreographed for multiple dance
productions in her 4 years as a member of the Legworks Company & Izzy
Moving Company at Southeastern Louisiana University.  She has trained with
teachers and choreographers at Broadway Dancer Center in New York City as
well as The Edge in Los Angeles.

In August, 2001, Miss April opened the doors to Steppin’ Out School of
Performing Arts.  She believes in training her students to be versatile in many
styles of dance, while focusing on their performance level and just having fun!
Her students have won many Overall Awards recently including Overall Senior
Group and Overall Senior Soloist at the NYLA National Championship in Fort
Walton Beach, FL.  She has choreographed for national ranking dance teams
including St. Thomas Aquantis Starlettes and Southeastern Louisiana University
Lionettes. April is also a member of Dance Teachers United.

various dance festivals in New Orleans, such as Dancearama. JB  has performed

Bridget Lyons has been dancing for 19 years. She has been teaching at Steppin`
Out for over 5 years now and has already won multiple choreography awards for
her innovative choreography. Bridget grew up training not only as a dancer but
a singer, actress and musician as well. Her many talents have casted her in
multiple roles including the lead as Peter in the 2009 Peter Pan Musical at
Southeastern Louisiana University. Bridget has performed with the
Southeastern Music, Drama and Dance Departments in over 20 performances.
Her soloists have received many overall awards including 1st Overall Senior
Soloist at the 2008 NYLA Nationals. Bridget works the dancers very hard and
her passion for dance is admired by all the students. We are very lucky to
have Bridget as a staff member at Steppin` Out and we hope to have
her for many years to come!!!
Mrs. Amy Galladora has recently rejoined the dance world, and Steppin` Out is
extremely lucky to have her. Amy has over 15 years of dance experience and
over 6 years of teaching experience. She took a small break from her life of dance
to bring her beautiful baby boy, Tyler Braden Galladora into the world. She also
earned her degree and is now a beautician/barber at Bella Salon in Ponchatoula.
In Amy's years of dance she received many overall awards for her outstanding
solo achievements. She also won top honors for her group & solo choreography
over the years. Amy likes to focus on the many different techniques involved to
create an amazing dancer! We at Steppin` Out are so very excited to
see what Mrs. Amy has in store for us this year!
Mrs. Cathy is Steppin` Out's AMAZING Office Manager...as well as Ms. April and
Mrs. Amy's mother! She does so much at Steppin` Out and despite her complete
lack of dance training, is one of the studio's most CRITICAL judges! She even
likes to show the students how NOT to do something by demonstrating it herself.
(And this is very entertaining!) We are all very lucky to have Mrs. Cathy
complete with her brutal honesty, her loving heart, and her
entertaining dance demonstrations. The studio would
not be the same without her!!
